Long awaited posts...

Spring Break in LA

March 26th to April 2nd Jen had the opportunity to go to LA area with the family that she nannied.

We went to Santa Monica beach. Here are the boys playing in the mud. Notice the the little one on the left, yeah, he's eating the mud. ( for those of you that are curious, the sand comes out the same as when it goes in) He really liked to eat it and would cry when I moved the mud away from his mouth. *One of those buildings is the Casa Del Mar hotel. The bosses and the Grandparents had tea while the kids and I played at the beach, later we all joined together at the hotel for COOKIES! Something rather interesting.... we noticed a lot of nice limos, limo buses, and tons of security... the "Nicolodeon kids choice awards" is what all of the fancy action was about.

Plants, that I have only seen as house plants, were all over outside!!
*Aloe Vera

*Christmas Cactus

We went to The Huntington botanical gardens/museum/etc. in San Marino. There was SO much to see, we only made it to the botanical gardens. Incredible! check out the website (my photos don't do the place justice!) : http://huntington.org/

*Statues

* Orange orchard

*Rain forest

Malibu beach on an overcast and somewhat chilly weekday (so not too many people).

Back in Calabasas (where we were staying)

*fake grass :-)

*Largest "Rolex" clock in the world (said Grandpa boss)

*Orange tree outside of "my" door - I got to live in luxury... my own room with bathroom, which had a door to the side yard, t.v. and computer with internet, in my room, plus very good to their guests hosts who made sure I was never hungry or uncomfortable, nice library that I was welcome to go and read books from, free reign of the house and food, GORGEOUS back yard (the "house plants" above are from their yard) with a hammock.

The time of year we went to Cali the temp was PERFECT and everything was so GREEN! I had a hard time going home other than to see my wonderful husband (HUGE reason, even though we talked everyday, sometimes 2 or 3 times! - 1st time away from each other so long since we've been married) and our lovely tulips (notice the other April post). Enjoy the green....

Flowers of Spring

Hare are some pictures of the flowers that are around our house. We planted some of them, but most were planted before we moved in.
